I met a member of a British Israelite congregation on the bus back in 2004. There’s no idea so strange that it can’t pack a church hall somewhere in the wilds of Burnaby, British Columbia.
Seriously, everyone knows that the Cimmerians are the Gimmeru, the sons of Gomer, son of Japhet, son of Noah, and that Cymru is named for the Cimmerians, who had a nice picnic on the British isles once in between rampages across the Middle East.
And since the Romans exterminated all of the sons of Shem, it follows that Britons are God’s chosen people!
