Well, I went back today thinking I might buy the book, but ended up deciding it wasn't really worth it - it seemed very thin on original material for the price tag and I found the authors a little irritating - I'll see if it turns up in a library instead. A shame. Sorry if I raised your hopes.

Eh, it's not too bad. I'm freelancing and getting plenty of interviews for real jobs (I'm an editor), so with any luck it won't last too long. On the other hand, I'm also taking advantage of the freedom to get out more, hence the photo offer.

Thanks for the offer! But what I'd really like is to be back in London so I can see things for myself ...

I haven't seen that book but it looks like fun -- will have to watch out for the documentary too.

Hope the job situation turns around soon.

As a Londoner with a large camera and sadly no longer burdened with a permanent day job, I'm happy to go and hunt down anything you want a picture record of. Just saying.

Incidentally, I saw this in Foyle's yesterday
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Search-Zeppelin-War-Neil-Faulkner/dp/0752441825/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1215115438&sr=8-1
and thought of you. Have you seen it?

Thanks, Ricardo -- I have no problems reading French as long as it is translated into English first! :(

Hi Brett

Don't know if you read french but I thought this could be of interest. I've found some french alamachs, from 1916 and 1917 and just scanned the pages about aviation. There are some references to Zepellins raids. The most interesting part (to me) is the undisguised pro-french writing :)
